Alfred G. Fortunato | alfortunato@allegoryadvisory.com
Al Fortunato is an independent advisor offering investment planning and management services. Al applies over twenty-five years of financial risk management knowledge, analytical skills, and corporate experience to assisting individuals with their investment advisory needs. Al employs a fee-only business model that puts the client's interests first. By design, this approach minimizes compensation-related conflicts of interest by eliminating commissions. As President of Allegory Advisory, LLC, Al is able to serve clients in New York and other jurisdictions throughout the U.S. where exempted.
During his corporate career, Al assisted financial services firms, energy utilities, and commodities trading companies with the design and implementation of financial risk management processes. Prior to relocating to New York in 2008, Al built and led the Houston-based Energy Risk Advisory practice for Ernst & Young LLP. His responsibilities included serving as operating area leader for the firm's financial services office, with reporting responsibility for over seventy professionals.
The economic events following the financial crisis of 2008-09 inspired Al to refocus his career on helping individuals and small businesses rebuild their financial futures. The conflicts of interests in the financial services industry often leave the retail investor in search of objective financial advice. Functioning as an independent financial advisor enables Al to serve this growing market.
Al and his wife live in New York, where they take part in the city's vast cultural offerings. They are perennial puppy sponsors at the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, founder's society members of the ASCPA, and donors to the Humane Society of New York.
